The CBIC has issued Instruction No. 03/2025-GST dated 17 April 2025, aimed at streamlining the processing of GST registration applications. This step directly addresses persistent concerns regarding the nature of clarifications being sought by officers, which often led to delays and confusion for applicants.
New instructions on registrations under GST issued:
  1. This acknowledges the shared business model for e-commerce operators.
  2. Documents beyond the list prescribed in the instruction should be sought only with prior approval of AC/ DC.
  3. Officers handling registration applications should not ask any presumptive query which is not related to the documents or information submitted by the applicant.
  4. Maximum 30 day time limit for processing registration applications.
